A 20% stake in BIOMETHAN GREEN 1 – SOCIETÀ AGRICOLA S.R.L. was acquired. The company is engaged in the construction of a liquid biomethane plant.
SOL S.p.A. ("SOL") and ANDION ITALY S.r.l. (“Andion”), the Italian subsidiary of Andion CH4 – a European leader in delivering proven solutions for energy production through anaerobic digestion of agricultural by-products and organic waste – have signed an agreement to build a plant for the production of liquefied biomethane (bio-LNG) from livestock biomass and agricultural by-products in Mirandola, in the province of Modena.
Specifically, AIRSOL S.r.l., a company fully owned by SOL S.p.a., has acquired a 20% stake in BIOMETHAN GREEN 1 – SOCIETÀ AGRICOLA S.R.L., a company controlled by Andion and holder of the permits for the construction and operation of the Modena-based plant.
With a total investment exceeding €20 million, the plant is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.
The partnership agreement grants SOL the exclusive offtake of the bio-LNG produced by the company, for subsequent distribution across Italy and Europe to clients in the mobility and industrial sectors. This partnership will allow SOL to further strengthen its offering of sustainable liquid gases.
